Aaron De Bruin is a dedicated Partner at De Bruin Law Firm, LLC, in Greenville, South Carolina. His path to private practice was distinguished by his prior service as a Judge Advocate General (JAG) in the United States Marine Corps. Achieving the rank of Captain before leaving active duty in 2013, Aaron’s military background instilled a strong sense of leadership, recognized by a Leadership Award at Naval Justice School.
In 2013, Aaron entered private practice in Greenville, focusing primarily on Estate Planning (including Wills, Trusts, Financial Powers of Attorney, and Healthcare Powers of Attorney) and Probate matters. His experience as a JAG included serving as both a prosecutor and defense attorney, during which he successfully tried over 15 criminal cases. This included two murder cases and securing a Not Guilty verdict in a complex Kidnapping/Burglary case where the client faced mandatory life imprisonment. In 2014, Aaron merged his practice with his father, Gary De Bruin, combining decades of legal experience. Beyond his legal work, Aaron is also a martial arts instructor.
Aaron earned his undergraduate degree, cum laude, from the University of Pittsburgh with a major in Finance and a minor in Economics. He then obtained his Juris Doctor from Ohio Northern University. He is admitted to practice law in South Carolina.
